Teardown

Here's what was found when the far was fully disassembled. We already knew there was some accident damage to the passenger side front and a couple of dings to repair, but it turns out the accident damage was far more extensive than originally thought. The small dings were the least of out problems. Lots of rust and body filler to round it all out. Looks like Marty's got his work cut out for him!

Front end removed. Accident damage to the hinge area on the passenger side

not so bad, so I thought...

Another view with the front end gone.

Another look at the passenger side apron. Hinge bolts have broken

off and are gone. Driver's side has the same problem.

Here you can see the factory floor has been cut away in

sections and a "new" floor was just screwed in from

the top. If you look closely you can also see how the subframe is almost

split in two and a piece of angle iron has been welded to

it as reinforcement.

Nice shackles! Notice the tail panel looks OK in this pic.

Look closely at the area on the door frame just above the lower hinge.

You will notice a damaged area. Looks like a cut.

Seen this before, but now there's no glass.

Ready for blasting to get rid of the old paint

What!?!? I thought this panel was OK. Rust like this EVERYWHERE!

Somebody used alot of filler just to cover all the rust

Here's more. It's on both sides in front of and behind the wheels.

You can see the filler here.

NASTY! Here's a look at that passenger apron without paint and filler.

Here's a good example of a bad "repair".

Notice the driver side from the core support to the firewall is

pretty straght. Passenger side, not so much.
