In 1967 Ford introduced a special edition mustang to the "61" DSO. That's the Ford sales district for north Texas. The special edition was called the "Bluebonnet Special" on the window sticker but the fender emblem said "Lone Star Limited". There was nothing really special about the cars except for the paint which was Bluebonnet Blue. The cars could be had with the "C" code 289ci engine, the "A" code 289ci high performance engine or the "T" code inline 6. I've see them with 3 and 4 speed manual transmissions as well as the C4 automatic. All of the cars I have been able to document have the "Sport Sprint" option which was a chrome air filter cover, the hood with the turn signals, and rocker panel mouldings. Some had factory A/C, but most did not. I have been able to locate 13 cars. Depending on what source you believe, there were either 175 build or 420. I tend to believe the 175 number more and I own 2 of them! Here's the story of a very abused example that is getting a new lease on life...
Here's a link to Marty's Mustang Madness. He's the person restoring the car for me:

Here we are fresh out of storage. Has not been moved for about 5 years. Already has new original style hood with the turn signals. |

The other side. No motor or transmission, they're already gone along with the interior. |
